Frequently asked questions.

  • This is a video-guided, hour-long conversation created to help you initiate a conversation about the surprising love of Jesus Christ.

Imagine your friends gathering over a shared meal, or simply being intentional to have an authentic conversation about life, loss, and love. This is a good news conversation about a loving God who steps into our pain and invites us to sit at his family table.

You can have this conversation whenever works best for you and your friends.

  • We provide you with access to everything you need to have a great conversation with your friends.

    • Good Friday Conversation video resources

    • Training and guidance for follow up

    • Social Media advertising

    • If you want anything else such as food, drinks, or games as you host your gathering, it’ll be up to you to supply it.

  • A whopping zero dollars.

  • We think this is a great conversation for many of your friends, from the spiritually curious to the committed followers of Jesus.

  • Why not? We are looking for students who love their friends and want to share the good news of forgiveness of sin and eternal life in Jesus Christ with them.

It can be easy to assume that all of our friends have already heard the gospel and have chosen not to follow Him. While in some situations that may be true, there are so many people all around us who have never heard the gospel clearly, and so have never actually had the chance to accept it for themselves.

We recognize that having spiritual and gospel conversations with friends can be challenging and, frankly, scary. Good Friday helps make it easier to have these spiritual conversations by providing relevant, interesting, and engaging content that naturally leads to a gospel conversation. People are asking questions about Jesus and church in the Easter season, so this seems like a perfect time to invite them.

  • We’d encourage you to spend time looking at the videos and questions, as well as the training guide first.

It’s up to you how much effort you want to put in as a host. If you want to provide snacks and food, more power to you!

  • This conversation anticipates that Easter is coming. Any time before Easter is ideal, it doesn’t have to be on Good Friday!

    • Mar 25 is Palm Sunday

    • Mar 29 is Good Friday

    • Mar 31 is Easter Sunday

Go ahead and put your conversation into your calendar now.

  • Wherever you want. You could do this at your home, at a cafe, in your dorm room . . . you get the point. As long as you are able to watch Good Friday material and have meaningful conversations, you have full control over location.

  • Follow up will happen through you, your ministry, and/or your church. There will not be a central follow-up system. We’ll have a way to hear your stories and provide feedback, but there will not be central direction to the follow up.

Good Friday is an opportunity to open the door to having spiritual conversations going forward. It doesn’t end with the invitation to come to church, but our involvement does- it will be up to you to continue the conversation with your friends and family.

For church/ministry leaders: We are working to create a system where students from your scope of ministry will be identifiable so we can forward them along to you in a batch for any specific follow up you might want to do. Again, we do not plan on doing organized follow up with these student leaders other than asking for feedback, evaluation, and observable results.

  • Cru has teamed up with dozens of other EveryCampus and Campus Alliance partners to sponsor Good Friday together.
